Rules and Regulations

The White Rock Tennis Club is a social club where every member can come and play with their fellow members in accordance with the following rules. Only Members in good standing and their guest are entitled to use the courts and the clubhouse faculties. Members are expected to respect and display sportsmanship at all times.
A. SIGN UP PROCEDURES
12:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Players wishing to play should use the sign-up board. When a square is full, signing-up continues in the next square.
If two courts are not being used, any four players may sign up and play on one of the two open courts. They may do so even if a square on the board is partially filled with players waiting for a foursome to play.
7:00 am to 12:00 am and 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Any four players may arrange their own game and sign up and play, if a court is free. They may do so even if a square is partially filled, with players waiting for a foursome to play.
At All Times.
Bumping or changing names on the board is not permitted.
A member needs to be present to have his/her name on the sign-up board.
At the conclusion of a set every player must come off the court and sign his/her name if they wish to play another set.
Foursomes shall have priority on all courts except during sanctioned Club tournaments, events, and lessons or City of White Rock lessons.
If all courts are busy and players are waiting, a tie breaker shall resolve the set when the score reaches 5 - 5
B. PLAYING ATTIRE
All players shall wear standard tennis clothing: shirts and shorts or skirt or track pants. Shirts shall not be removed while on club
premises.
Players shall wear standard recognized tennis shoes. Any footwear marking the surface is prohibited on the courts.

Hours of play are from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm
Members shall have priority on all courts except during sanctioned Club tournaments, lessons, and events or City of White Rock lessons.
D. SECURITY AND CARE OF THE PREMISES
Pets are not allowed in the clubhouse or on the decks adjacent to the clubhouse or courts.
Children are to be supervised by parent members.
It is the responsibility of all club Members to ensure that only members and their guests use the club facilities and that all players adhere to the rules and regulations. Members shall challenge the membership status of unknown players. If non-eligible player(s) do not leave the Club’s facilities when requested by a Member, the Member may report the circumstances the Executive.
Club members shall not lean on the nets or strike the nets with their racquets.
It is the responsibility of all Members to keep the courts and facilities clean.
E. REFRESHMENTS
No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed on Club premises. On occacions where the club wishes to serve alcohol, a liquer permit must be obtained from the BCLCB.
Water or other refreshments may be taken on to the court while playing, but must be in unbreakable containers.
F. COURT ETIQUETTE
Common courtesy shall apply at all times.
If a Member exhibits inappropriate behavior he or she may be asked to leave the courts and/or the Club premises. Any excessive inappropriate behavior by any Club Member can be reported to a member of the Executive. Any inappropriate behavior of a Club Member while he/she is a member of a league or club team may result in his/her expulsion from the team.
