What a terrific finale to another successful year at the White Rock Tennis Club. Our Annual Dinner Dance was held on September 30 th at the Rotary Field House. This year we tried a different format with more entertainment and it seemed to be a hit with everyone. Bringing the date forward enabled the snowbirds to join us. The live entertainment with audience participation was a hoot…thanks to the good sports who played along (see pictures in club house) The entertainers – Divas Las Vegas were great – they also thought you were great and stayed an extra two hours as everyone was having so much fun!
Again it was a team effort that produced this year's event. Helge Jensen designed and printed out the tickets that got things rolling. Nancy de Vink, Colleen Torsky, Gloria Sommerville and myself teamed up to do the ground work. The theme this year was “Divas Las Vegas” with showy table decorations – thanks again to Marion Van Kekan. The Buffet dinner was catered by Mike of Country Catering and was delicious. John Torsky, Peter Sephton and the gang did a superb job at the bustling bar. Betty Bishop and Trish Sephton were hostess' with the mostess' welcoming guests at the door. Nancy De Vink, our new president did a great job of emceeing the evening and announcing the 2006 Tournament winners. A Big “Thank-You' to all who pitched in with their talents and skills.
Being the Social director for the past three years has been lots of fun and given me the opportunity to put together these dinner dances and the other various events throughout the year. You are an awesome fun group of friends and it's been a blast to doing my part for the club.
