WRTC was well represented in quite a few age categories at the BC 55+ Games, held August 23 to 26 in Abbotsford.

Joseph Incantalupo acted as Zone Coordinator for tennis and has been putting a lot of effort into this job for years.

Players representing our club included Tony Caines, Pat Vickers, Daphne McFarland, Carol Cornell, Lucinda Burfoot, Mike Burfoot, George Whitfield and Andrea Wyndham-Adams. All did well within their categories with several winners.

Andrea reports, “The Tournament was a lot of fun and Abbotsford did a great job hosting. I believe there were 23 different sports this year with pickleball having the largest number of entries.

“We were fortunate to have 4 indoor courts at Great West Fitness which we were able to use if the smoke from wildfires bothered us.

“The highlight of the 4 days for me was meeting a lot of really lovely people from other parts of the province.
