Shirley Hill - In Memorium

The club has lost Shirley Hill, a long-time member, stricken by cancer. Her friend Freda Marion said, “Shirley and I became good friends many years ago when I first joined Hazelmere. She made me feel welcome and helped me fit in with the Division Two team. She had an amazing life but died way too soon. She was not only an excellent tennis player she was a great golfer and rode horses. Shirley got her pilot license at a young age as well. She loved to travel, loved animals and was always trying to save a cat or stray dog.

“Everyone at Hazelmere, and WRTC as well, are going to miss her dearly. I’m grateful that although she died of cancer she didn’t suffer long. I was with her and held her hand to the end. I just feel blessed that I had her for a friend.”
